On the road again...
It's an early rise for Corby Town U15 Girls as they journey to New Roker Park in Central Bedfordshire for what promises to be a challenging encounter with Stotfold Juniors U15 Turquoise in the Division 2 Bedfordshire FA Girls League. The teams are strangers to each other, but Stotfold won't be strangers to tough competition, having finished 6th in Division 1 of the Hertfordshire Girls Football Partnership Leagues last season. They've built momentum over the summer, going unbeaten to lift the trophy at the Bournemouth Tour and currently sit 3 points behind Corby in 3rd place of the league.
But Corby arrive in high spirits, buoyed by a resounding 7-0 victory over Kingsthorpe Jets and carrying an impressive scoring record of six goals per game this season. They’ll be looking to keep that momentum rolling with a full squad at their disposal. Dual-signer Issi adds an extra edge to the side, while Leila will be looking to add to her flurry of goals and assists along with Lilly-Mai hoping to continue her prolific form with seven goals in her last four matches.
In the heart of midfield, Lilly-Ella will be key to dictating the pace and tempo, while Captain Poppy will marshal the defense, aiming for yet another clean sheet on the road. It’s a well-rounded Corby squad, and they’ll need to be at their best to break down a determined Stotfold side.
Stotfold’s summer invincibility meets Corby’s free-scoring form. It’s a battle of attacking flair versus disciplined resilience, and the stage is set for an enthralling clash. Which side will stamp their mark on this new encounter between the two teams? Find out at New Roker Park!
