Dave made the move to the Steelmen in the summer of 2007 alongside Chairman Peter Mallinger and fellow director Mick Leech and oversaw an upturn in fortunes that took Corby from the bottom of the Southern League Premier Division to champions in 2 years.
The 3 of them had spent many seasons with Kettering Town, and it was clear that he still held all his former clubs close to his heart. At the presentation evening following our title win, David welcomed in the team with the words “Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome your Southern League Premier Division Champions, Kettering Town!” The slip of the tongue was quickly corrected but not before many laughs and smiles were shared in the room.
The trio were instrumental in moving Corby Town from their old Rockingham Triangle ground to Steel Park, the stadium we call home now.
Sadly, in January 2011, Peter passed away and by the end of the year, a restructure at boardroom level saw David move into a non-executive position. Thanks to his job as a solicitor, Dunham worked tirelessly behind the scenes during his time with Corby and the mark of the man can be seen by the many messages that have been posted since his passing.
The thoughts of everyone at Steel Park are with the family of David Dunham, your tireless work and approachable manner will never be forgotten!
